1. Acceptance of these terms

Money Neko is operated by Money Neko Limited (NZBN 9429051333461, Company Number 8747306), a company registered in New Zealand trading as "Money Neko". By joining the Money Neko waitlist, registering interest in the beta, or using the Money Neko beta service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Money Neko is โ€” and isn't

Money Neko is a personal finance automation tool that helps you set rules for how your income is split across your own accounts as it arrives. Money Neko is:

  • Not a bank. We do not hold deposits or provide banking services.
  • Not currently a registered Financial Service Provider under the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008, and not a licensed financial advice provider under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013.
  • Not a custodian of your money. Money Neko does not take possession or control of your funds. It sends allocation instructions to third-party providers (such as your bank's or payment provider's own APIs) that you have separately and directly authorised.
  • Not a source of financial advice. Nothing in Money Neko โ€” including default allocation templates, community-published workflows, or benchmarking comparisons โ€” is personalised financial advice or a recommendation to buy, hold, or sell any financial product. Automated allocation and investment features carry risk, including the risk of loss; past or projected performance is not a guarantee of future results. You should seek independent financial advice for decisions specific to your circumstances.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under New Zealand law to join the waitlist or beta. The beta is currently intended for individuals resident in New Zealand.

4. The private beta

Money Neko is in stealth development. To keep quality high while we build, we open each beta intake to a small number of people at a time. By joining:

  • You understand features, workflows, and the underlying automation system are unfinished, may change materially, and may be withdrawn without notice.
  • You agree to keep beta features and materials you're shown confidential, and not to publicly describe, screenshot, or share how the underlying system works, until we make it public.
  • We may pause, end, or decline to continue your beta access at any time, including at the end of an intake period.

5. Connected accounts

To automate your income allocation, you will connect one or more third-party accounts (for example, your bank or a payments API) and grant specific permissions. You are responsible for the accuracy of the accounts and permissions you connect, and for maintaining your own login security. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or changes made by third-party providers whose services Money Neko relies on.

6. Community workflows and feature requests

Beta users may be able to publish or duplicate community-created allocation workflows, and to propose features through our community governance process. Community-published workflows are provided by their creators, not vetted as financial advice by Money Neko, and used at your own discretion. Participating in feature proposals or governance does not create any ownership interest, equity, security, or right to a financial return in Money Neko.

7. Fees

Money Neko is currently free to use during the private beta. If this changes, we will tell you the applicable fees clearly before they apply to you.

8. Intellectual property

Money Neko and its underlying technology, branding, and default workflow templates are our property or licensed to us. You retain ownership of any workflow configurations or content you personally create, and grant us a licence to host and operate them as part of providing the service.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Money Neko is provided "as is" during the beta period, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Money Neko and disconnect your accounts at any time. We may suspend or end your access, including for a breach of these terms, misuse of the service, or as part of managing beta intake numbers.

11. Changes, governing law, and contact

We may update these terms as the product develops; we'll post the updated date above and tell beta users directly of material changes. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any dispute is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. Questions can be sent to evamayalloyd@moneyneko.app.
